This morning I have been working on the trial account that I have set up for Springshre Libguides. I am trying to put together a demonstration page to show some of my colleagues what is possible with the product.
I had seen them used at the LILAC conference that I attended at the British Library in April and found them a neat way of expanding what we have on the web pages. At Manchester we are very much constrained by our content management system and these could be a way around that.
I have been planning to set up a blog for ages so 23 things is the perfect excuse. I have blogged before as part of my job I took on the admin of the departmental blog just over a year ago. It isn’t hugely successful as there only seems to be me and a couple of colleagues that post to it. I realise that I should try to market it a little bit more.
I am looking forward to taking part in this and see it as being a real developmental opportunity. I am interested in identifying new tools and methods of working to attempt to keep up to date and then pass on tips in my training sessions.
